Kenneth M. Kaminski
The Founder
Kenneth Michael Kaminski, a Polish American, was born and raised in Northwest Indiana. He was strongly influenced by his parents’ deep faith, Polish culture, and love and appreciation of the beautiful religious art in the churches and cathedrals. While attending St. Mary’s College in Orchard Lake, Michigan Ken met two Polish priests, Msgr. Zdzislaw Peszkowski and Msgr. Michael Dylag. These two very close, life-long friends of Pope John Paul Il helped him continue his studies in Poland. Ken solidified his ties with Poland by co-organizing the nation’s first official trade delegation sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce. He continued working in Poland as a liaison until November 1998. It was during this time that Ken received his first invitation from Rome to attend Mass in the Holy Father’s private chapel in the Papal Palace and attend an evening audience there. These events had a profound effect on this former knight of the altar. The famous works of art and architecture of Michelangelo, Rafael, Bernini and others inspired Ken. Passionate about forming his own business in his grandparents’ native Poland, Ken joined forces with family members in 1999. They focused on a collection of fine religious / renaissance art based blown-glass ornaments celebrating the Pontificate of His Holiness, Pope John Paul II. The Papal Collection (officially approved by the Vatican) was the result of the Kaminskis’ painstaking efforts to assemble a group of the best sculptors, glassblowers and decorators in Poland. The entire collection was broadened to include Madonnas and Saints from around the world, Sistine Chapel figures and angels from Vatican Museum frescoes. In March of 2023, this small family company was re-named Kaminski Collections and the ornament line is currently being redefined and expanded again. However, the concept remains the same: all designs in our collections are deeply seated with a spiritual or symbolic significance and reflect the art and beauty from centuries past to this new millenium.
